You can earn cash-anywhere from $50 to $1500 per month-doing something even a kid can do. A paper route.
First, decide how much time you are willing to devote to the job. There are early morning routes, daytime routes, nighttime routes, and weekend routes. The larger the route, the more cash you rake in.
Apply for a route directly through the circulation department at your local paper. If no routes are currently available, you can get your foot in the door by volunteering to be someone's substitute.

Motorized routes, although they cover a greater distance, require you to buy gas and put wear and tear on your car (particularly the brakes).
Along with the actual paper delivery, you may be required to roll/bag the papers and collect money from customers. These duties require time and organization. You may want to use your computer to keep a running tab on your customers and their payments.
Like any job, a paper route has drawbacks. There are no built-in days off, and you will be responsible to find and pay your substitute if you become ill or decide to go on vacation. You must deliver papers in all kinds of weather: extreme heat, frigid cold, ice, snow, rain, and so on. You may find yourself delivering papers in questionable neighborhoods during the wee hours of the night, which for some people is an unappealing prospect.
On the positive side, a paper route provides a nice chunk of spending money in exchange for relatively easy work. There are no dress requirements, no time clocks to punch, and no bosses hovering over your shoulder. If you have the time and motivation, a $200/month route would tack $2400 onto your annual income; a $500/month route would add $6000; and a $1500/month route would make you $18,000 richer in one year's time.
