What is a scholarship?

Scholarships are a must have in today's world for anyone wishing to further their education. Scholarships are awards (usually in money) that are given out based on either merit, need, or both. Most scholarships are only available to use for educational purposes. They are a popular achievement among pretty much every college student.

Types of Scholarships

There are 2 main  types of scholarships: need-based (also known as financial aid) and merit-based scholarships. Need-based scholarships are, obviously, awarded to those who exhibit a need for money to continue their education past the local high school.

Do you have some school bills piling up that need to be paid? Here are a few ideas that can help you to make some extra money to help pay those bills.

1. Go Freelance - Join sites like IFreelance.com or
    Freelance.com and become a freelance writer, designer,
    programer etc.. and make some extra money.

2. Sell products you do not use on Ebay.

3. Take online surveys - This is an easy way that generate
    some extra cash that will require  little of your time.

4. Become an online tutor - get paid to help others who are
    having difficulty in school. Tutor.com has part time job
    oppotunities for people interested in tutoring.

5. Become an Online Juror. Take part in a mock up trial and
    get paid between $5 to $10 depending on the length of the

6. Sell your text books. Do you have text books that are in
    good condition that some else can use? Then you may be
    able to sell them back and recoup some of your cost for
    them. You can also try charging a small fee for recovering
    used text books from other students.

7. Sell your college game or entertainment tickets - If you
    really need the money this can bea great option as there
    are many students who will pay for those tickets.

8. Run errands for people with limited mobility or too busy.
    This could be an easy way to earn some extra bucks.

9. Get a part time job - Visit the local small businesses
    around the campus and be on the look out for Help Wanted
    signs. The pay may be low but it may be enough to pay off
    those growing bills.

10. Sell stock photography online - Do yo have a digital
      camera? You can go around and take pictures that the
      stock photography websites will buy from you.
